They are quite hard … They are quite hard to tell visually. If you can manage to look underneath you can sometimes tell by the width of the holes aparts, and sizes. Spawning time is a good time to see.
Have you found your … Have you found your albino’s grow a lot slower than the others? I have had oscars for years, mainly the common tiger oscar but when I have had albinos with the normal, the albinos grow so much slower. I purchased 1 tiger, 1 red, 1 tiger albino, 1 red albino. The albinos were bigger but now they are dwarfed by the commons.
well i got a 5g hex … well i got a 5g hex tank with 1 male oscar thats about 2-4″ big N ITS DOING FINE VERY FINE BUT ima move it into a 50g or 55g tank soon!
in my opinion i … in my opinion i think you should have a tank no smaller then 55g for oscar fish o an i mean uk gallons and thats just for one oscar if you want to you should at least have a 75 uk gallon tank and if you want 3 125 uk gallon tank,if anyone keeps oscars in tanks smaller then these then its just cruel on them and they wont b happy.
Hi
I just wanted … Hi
I just wanted to let you know that feeding feeder goldfish is bad for a oscar. They can carry disease.
Try feeding a different thing.
the old wives tale … the old wives tale about a fish only growing the size its tank will allow it is just that, a myth. your oscars will continue to grow, I found out the hard way
first of all…your … first of all…your tank is already overcrowded and you must not know anything about fish because you have a tinfoil barb and a pacu in a 20 gallon. if you purchase an oscar it will die slowly and painfully in that 20 gallon because it’ll get stunted. when it gets stunted its gills will curl and its body will noticeably look disfigured. the oscar will die painfully because his insides would outgrow his stomache. think about it…

i have 2 oscars in … i have 2 oscars in a 14 gallon didnt think they would grow that fast i knew i have to get a 55g soon, but now its sooner then i thought, one is gettin big the other is gettin that way prob get one pretty soon
oscars gow very … oscars gow very very fast! especially if you will feed them fish. you can put an oscar in a 20 gallon tank. but the oscar will not grow. he will remain small because of the tank.
NOT A GOOD IDEA!!!! … NOT A GOOD IDEA!!!! Oscars are very TERITORIAL! besides 20 gallon is way too small for an OSCAR. believe me….. At least 55 gallon is ok.

That’s not true. …
That’s not true. They keep growing regardless of your tank size. If you don’t have a big tank, an Oscar is not for you.
