You dont need to ...
You dont need to add fish to a marine tank for it go though a cycle....all you need is bunch of live rock+ Live sand and it will complete the cycle in few weeks.
Water movement and protein skimmer are important. You dont need a canister filter. Just builds up nitrates. Ive seen a huge reef tank with no mechanical or protein skimmer..and it looks so healthy...100% biological filtration.

Beneath amateurish ...
Beneath amateurish at best! If the tank contains that much live rock for "bio-filtration" why would you install a wet/dry filter? I guess this guy must plan on selling a lot of nitrate filters to his newbie viewers. What a clown!

Like hed420 said, ...
Like hed420 said, you would use fake corals if you are going to stock the tank with coral eating fish. Some of you guys on this vid have made some very idiotic comments and should do your research before you start throwing insults about that you know nothing about. Youve obviously never built or maintained a salt water tank of any kind. It can cost $5k+ to stock a large tank with live coral. Go spend $10k+ on a reef setup and throw in some parrot fish. See how long your REAL corals last.

Now I see why a lot ...
Now I see why a lot of people don't trust these guys. What makes these so called experts, experts? First off..wet/dry filters suck. Your better off with a sump&refugium. Stay away from bioballs if you use LR. Using live fish to cycle a tank is inhuman, it will shorten the fish's lives plus they suffer during the whole nitrogen process. Use unprocessed shrimp from your local deli as shtdaf mentioned. The only reason someone would use fake corals is if they have non reef safe fish such as angels.

True that damsels ...
True that damsels are extremely hardy, but you don't need 'starter' fish to cycle a tank. Take a fresh shrimp from your grocery store and drop it in. It will start the cycle in the tank. Monitor the parameters. Use live rock, it will benefit your tank, + fake deco is gay.

I would not listen ...
I would not listen to this guy now that I have about 2 years experience in reef keeping.

And why would anyone wish to put fake corals in a reef tank?
